Hippo

The hippo has huge a mouth and teeth, an adult hippo can open their mouth up to four feet wide... if I were you... I wouldn't be tickling the hippos toes too much! Their hooves help them to walk on the bottom of the river, and wade through the wet mud land. Hippos spend most of their time in the water.
A male can weigh between 3,500 and 7,000 pounds while the female is much smaller reaching approximately 3,000 pounds. Hippos are plant eaters (herbivores), usually coming out of the water at night to graze.

Male Hippos will fight for their territory. Here is a Daddy and Baby Hippo play fighting, underwater. Hippo Swim Underwater - Baby Hippo Swim Underwater - Hippo Eat We enjoy visiting Bubbles and Cupid (and their baby) at Toledo Zoo's underwater Hippo exhibit... Hippoquarium!

Newborn hippos are about 18 inches tall, 3 1/2 feet long, and weigh 75 to 100 pounds at birth. The babies are usually born in the water, and nurse in the water. When born, the mommy hippo pushes their baby to the surface of the water to take their first breath of air.
